Eating Raw AppleThere is a huge misconception that if you eat raw then you don’t get all your nutrients. One of the questions often asked is where a raw foodie gets his protein. It is a question that can be answered.

The truth is that protein does not just come from meat, dairy, or even soy. Every living cell contains protein.

Plant-based foods contain plenty of enormously high quality protein. Vegetables, fruits, and seeds have protein. Sea vegetables and algae are rich sources of protein. This protein is actually healthier for the body because of a rigid material known as fiber that flows through the system with ease, giving us regular and healthy bowel movements.

Animal protein, on-the-other-hand, has walls made of cholesterol that our bodies are not well-equipped to breakdown. Our gut becomes coated with grease from animal protein and absorption becomes difficult. We get constipated and also risk a greater danger of clogged arteries because of how the cholesterol from animal proteins absorbs into the blood system.

If you eat a variety of plants in your diet, including plenty of greens, it easy for your to consume 100% “complete” protein because all 8 essential amino acids are present in large quantity.
For the raw foodie is very important the time is taken to insure a balance of daily meals. Both fruits and vegetables play an important role in making sure that you get all 8 of the amino acids that the body cannot make. There are many raw foodies who are not as healthy as they need to be because their diet is not as balanced as it should be and they are not getting enough calories. This is why there may some who look weak and emaciated. As a raw foodie you need to eat a lot of food to ensure proper nutrient. Please don’t assume that just because you go raw you can eat a salad a day, a handful of notes, and a bunch of fruit that your body is performing at it peak level.

You have to have a plan.

Some smart ideas for getting enough protein in our body include eating a nice big salad daily and fruit as snacks. But don’t just stop there. You can find a number of raw food recipes online. Try a few. You can also do things like just cut up some vegetables and make a dipping sauce. Then simply dip.

Try a smoothie or fresh vegetable juice to help you get in that necessary protein. Believe it or not spinach cannot be detected in a banana strawberry smoothie. Investing in a good blender, juicer or Vita-Mix is a great idea for the person on a raw food diet because you should always be juicing and creating yummy smoothies.

In life there is really no guarantee that anything we do will help us live longer. There are just too many things that can happen. However when it comes to what we eat, we can help to ensure that we give our body a fighting chance to thrive and be all that it can be.

  1. thanks for the useful information.
Some interesting new research by a doctor has identified several species of parasites and a specific type of goopy plaque that if left in your bowels makes you fat, bloated, developing a pouch and spare-tire belly.

This is the cause of people’s obesity — fortunately, this research also reveals how to stop it. It further explains that the same cause of why people get fat is also the same reason why people eventually get sick and die prematurely — often cutting off years from their lives (not to mention the quality of their lives).

People who flush these parasites out, often report rapid weight losses up to 100 lbs or more — and without changing a single thing about their diets. Not that you need to lose anywhere near that amount… but it does prove how well it works.

  2. I always tell those who say you can not get enough protien with a raw food diet. do you think gorillas and elephants look like they lack protein. It is not how much protein you consume, but how much protein you absorb.

  3. I think most people don’t realize that you can get protein from raw vegetable sources. The general consensus seems to be meat = protein with little thought elsewhere.

  4. Here are some foods that are complete proteins: Bananas, dates, tomatoes, okra, squash, carrots, broccoli, bean and alfalfa spouts, corn, sweet potatoes and most seeds and nuts. I am sure there are many more, so there is no reason not to get the correct protein that your body needs everyday.
