Raw Food Preservation

For may raw foodies out there, cold weather is getting closer every day. So how do you handle eating raw raw foods in winter? People who are equally concerned about raw foods AND green living want to eat both raw and local but this is hard in the winter. Canning is not really an option because that sterilizes the food. Freezing does cause some damage to the food but is better than canning by far…it does require a lot of energy though. Are there any OTHER ways to preserve food?
