So what ingredients do you need in the kitchen to make most raw food dishes? I know a list was really helpful to me so I thought I would post one here. These are your basics. A regular kitchen might have flour, granulated sugar, cocoa, baking poder, etc. A raw kitchen is a bit different. Other than the obvious raw fruits and veggies you may want to stock up on the following raw ingredents:

Nuts: Almonds, Cashews, Pecans, Macadamia nuts, Pine nuts, Walnuts

Seeds: Sunflower, Pumpkin, Flax, Hemp, Sesame

Sweeteners: Agave Nectar, Honey, Dried fruit (dates, raisins, coconut), Carob powder, Lucuma powder, Stevia (not raw).

Nut Butters/Oils: Almond Butter, Cacao Butteer, Coconut Butter/Oil, Tahini

Condiments: Nama Shoyu, Apple Cider Vinegar, Oilive Oil (cold or stone pressed), Sea Salt, Braggs Liquid Aminos (not raw).

Spices: Any you want really but important ones are Cayenne, Chili powder, Cinammon, Coriander, Cumin, Nutmeg, and Tumeric. Blended ones are nice too like Apple Pie Spice or Pumpkin Pie Spice.

Other: Dulse, Nori, Cacao Nibs, Dried Olives, Greens powder, Maca Root powder, Spirulina.

See my raw kitchen appliances post for info about what kitchen gadgets and gear you may need.

Enjoy!

  2. Glad to see that the dates were on your list of sweeteners. Medjool dates are the sweetest and you can also make a honey with medjool dates.
